Katalin Szeili
I graduated from the Károli Gáspár Reformed University, specializing in developmental and clinical child psychology. I am currently involved in the Institute of Psychology research "Cognitive, affective and psychophysiological components of the perception of infant crying in adult males and females", investigating the relationship of attachment and mentalization with adult perception of infant crying.
During my master's degree in psychology I worked as a volunteer in the social skills development groups of the Child and Youth Psychiatry Department of the Csolnoky Ferenc Hospital in Veszprém County. I have completed internships at the Adolescent Ward of Bethesda Children's Hospital and at the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Centre for Autism at the Heim Pál National Institute of Paediatrics.
At the University of Pannonia’s Centre for Career and Student Services, my aim is to understand the thoughts and emotions of the students who come to me, to understand their current problems and to guide them through the process of encountering their emotions. I would like to help students understand the background to their blockages and identify how they can make changes in these areas. It is important for me to help students find individual, comforting and viable solutions to their current life problems, and to help them know that they are not alone in their difficult situations. Develop their stress management and problem-solving skills, better identify and mobilise their resources, and manage their tensions more effectively. Be more aware and self-identical in their relationships.
My professional work is supported by my own experience in therapy, ongoing training and supervision. My master's degree in economics and my 13 years of work experience (Office of the Parliament, Hungarian Scholarship Committee, Rector's Office of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Ministry of National Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Balatonfüred Municipal Office, Communication Centre of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pannonia, my sole proprietorship) as an economist also support my understanding of the problems of the people who approach me.
During an individual psychological consultation, you can contact me with problems such as:
- challenges of young adulthood
- relationship problems (family, romantic relationship, friends)
- anxiety, tension
- lethargy
- managing negative thoughts and emotions
- difficulty controlling emotions
- difficulty maintaining self-boundaries
- self-esteem problems, self-doubt
- learning methodology issues, managing study and exam stress, feelings of being overwhelmed
- helplessness in decision-making situations
- indecisiveness
- difficulty in socialising
- communication problems, conflict management
I believe that the basis of the relationship that develops is to provide a safe, secure environment for discussions; to approach students with empathy, acceptance and attention. In addition to solving or easing a specific, current problem, I believe that consultations are an important opportunity to experience a new, trusting relationship in which difficulties can be freely shared. My work is carried out in full confidentiality and in accordance with the ethical rules applicable to psychologists.
Individual consultations are 5-10 sessions, 50 minutes long, once a week. Individual consultations are offered free of charge to students of the University.
