Dorina Gellén

I completed my undergraduate studies at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary, followed by my master's degree in counselling and school psychology at Eötvös Loránd University, where I earned my qualification as a certified psychologist. In my thesis I researched learning motivation.

During my university years I started working at an association that supports disadvantaged families, where I provided individual psychological counselling and group development sessions. This academic year I am also leading self-awareness workshops for teenagers.

I consider gaining diverse experiences and understanding broad segments of society to be important. I began my career as a psychologist in public education as a school psychologist, and I am currently performing similar tasks at a private school. Besides my job at University of Pannonia, I work as a part-time psychologist at a family support centre in my home town, and I also conduct group sessions in a programme that supports talented young people.

I am currently a post-graduate student in the psychology programme specialised in counselling at Eötvös Loránd University. In recent years I have completed several training courses on the following topics: coaching methods, grief, anxiety, and fairy tale therapy. I am expanding my self-awareness in a person-centered group. I carry out my work with regular supervision.

Young adulthood is a period full of changes and challenges. We may feel the need to meet expectations in many roles and areas of life while building our adult selves as well. That may lead to obstacles or burdensome situations, which are easier to overcome with help, and this is the period when psychological counselling, which is more of a consultation or talk, can be useful.

Students of University of Pannonia can turn to me with the following topics:

  • Self-awareness, life management
  • Stress management
  • Crisis, burdensome life situations
  • Family problems
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Anxiety
  • Personal life obstacles
  • Grief
  • Study methods and strategies
